WELCOME!
Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Jim Luby. This is a brand new website that I began designing in January 2010, and it is a work in progress. I’m an amateur Wordpress user, so bear with me as I add more content over the course of the weeks and months ahead. My hope is that over time you’ll find this to be a great source of information regarding the real estate market in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
During my ten years in real estate brokerage, my business has been in both the residential and commercial arenas. Over the past two years while the housing market has deteriorated, we have all witnessed a steady increase in the amount of distressed property owners in the marketplace. These distressed homeowners usually purchased with good intentions. Maybe they were simply looking for a nice place to call home; a place they owned. Or they purchased an investment property thinking it would provide a nice return. As the real estate market turned and the economy weakened, many owners now find themselves completely underwater because their property values have dropped below their outstanding mortgage balance(s). Many people today are struggling to make mortgage payments, missing mortgage payments, and facing the possibility of foreclosure.
Because of the large amount of distressed property owners in the market today, I recently partnered with a group that is one of Chicago’s most successful short sale and pre-foreclosure companies. While conventional transactions are still a large part of my business, I am now able to do more to help those clients and homeowners in need. Operating under the Jameson Real Estate name, we have set a goal to help as many distressed homeowners as possible.
Website Features
Some of the current highlights of this website include general information on short sales and the short sale process, and a live blog where I’ll be sharing my ideas as they relate to real estate. Over time I’ll be adding future pages to feature current properties for sale, especially our “hot deals”. I’ll also be adding general content on the home buying and home selling process, a client only login pate, mortgage calculators, community information, and a probably a page that will be just for fun.
Please come back often! If you have a comment, or want to participate in any of my blog discussions, feel free! My hope is that this will become a live forum with active reader participation. If you ever want to contact me directly, feel free to call me at (312) 335-3240 or email me at JLuby@Jameson.com.
