I am a rookie blogger, and I will be learning as I go. My plan is to use this website as a way to share good information with you, mostly about the Chicago area real estate market. I’ll be sharing regular info about the housing market, statistics, useful links, professional referrals, and more. Some of what I share will be purely professional, some light and fun, some serious, and some of it….well, we’ll see.
Please bear with me as I continue to add and develop the content here. My hope is that you will come back often and actively participate. If you see something you like, please share it with others! If you have comments or feedback, please contribute! This is a work in progress, and I’m excited to be sharing with you!
Here’s a little bit about me…
I moved to the Northwest suburb of Inverness when I was in second grade (let’s see…I guess I was 7 or 8 years old). Since then I have been a resident in the area. I went to high school at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, and then went to undergrad at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. After graduating in 1998 with a degree in Finance, I moved to Chicago and have been here ever since. Currently I live in the Lincoln Square neighborhood with my wife Kelly and my three boys.
After college I worked in the consulting business for two years with a small technology firm in Chicago. In 2000 I decided to get my real estate license and jumped into the residential brokerage business. Consulting didn’t last long, but real estate stuck! Over the course of the past 10 years, I’ve worked closely with all types of clients: homeowners, high rise condominium developers, builders, apartment building owners, property managers, attorneys, lenders, etc. I experienced a boom market from 2000 through 2007. And more recently I’ve experienced the “bust” market of the past few years. The real estate landscape has changed, but my job remains the same: to help clients buy and sell properties, to help clients transact, to guide them through the process.
